The Gold Rush

It measures 14 centimetres tall and about 9.5 centimetres across.

It is made from a material called “stoneware”. This is a type of pottery that is very sturdy, and feels a bit like stone. Stoneware is often used for dishes put in the oven, as it can withstand high temperatures without breaking.

“Morgan” is the name of the company that made it in Battersea, London, England. “Round H” refers to the shape and size of the pot.

It was heated up in a type of oven called a furnace.

Something was melted inside it.

This type of pot is called a “Crucible”.

It is a Stoneware Crucible used for melting gold before pouring it into moulds to make coins.
