Thank you for your interest in a role with Museums of History NSW.

About Museums of History NSW

Museums of History NSW is a state cultural institution that cares for and enables public access to a group of museums, historic places and collections, including the NSW State Archives and the UNESCO World Heritage–listed Hyde Park Barracks.

MHNSW also operates commercial functions that contribute significantly to the sustainability of the agencies. These include retail, food and beverage, venue hire and the Government Records Repository, which provides commercial storage, records management, digitisation and consultancy services.

Diversity and flexible working

We are expert keepers and tellers of history, and its many stories, peoples and cultures. We want to create a team and workplace that reflects this diversity as well as the diversity in the communities we serve. We know through experience that different ideas, perspectives and backgrounds build a stronger and more creative work environment that delivers better, more inclusive results and connects our people to our communities, history and each other.

Our vision is to support and empower First Nations people, communities and culture, and across the sites that we care for, we are committed to shifting perspectives, truth telling and delivering honest reflections on history.

We understand that flexibility means different things to different people and are committed to offering flexible work arrangements where and when possible.

Our team can provide alternative application formats, make adjustments to the recruitment process, and offer information about workplace adjustments and support networks.

If you have a disability and require more information or assistance you can contact the team at humanresources@mhnsw.au

Please note:

  • We do not accept unsolicited resumes
  • All applications must be submitted through the I work for NSW website.
