Members Hour: Meroogal

Make yourself at home at Meroogal with Members Hour.

Located in Nowra in the Shoalhaven, Meroogal has barely changed since it was built in the 1880s. Loved and maintained by four generations of women from one local family, the house still overflows with their favourite belongings, and the garden with produce that hints at their self-sufficiency and hospitality. Books and ornaments, furniture, photographs, diaries, clippings and recipes – all tell a multitude of stories about the pleasures and labours of daily life for the Meroogal women and the south coast community in which they lived.

Be guided around the property by our museum experts and enjoy an exclusive viewing of the biennial Meroogal Women’s Art Prize.
Bring a picnic to enjoy in the 1920s-inspired gardens or enjoy a bite to eat nearby at Blak Cede Cafe.

Members Hour provides members with exclusive access to our properties.
