History Week 2024: Marking Moments

Commemorating NSW Across Time

Join us during History Week 2024 for an insightful journey into Marking Moments: Commemorating NSW Across Time.

Drawing upon the rich material held in the State Archives Collection, this event will explore celebratory practices from the colonial era to the present day. From significant state events to local community milestones, this event will highlight how traditions and values have influenced these celebrations and encourage reflection on how anniversaries shape identity and collective memory in NSW.

Join us for this special event which includes a talk, optional tour of the Western Sydney Records Centre, and special viewing of state archives including the Third Charter of Justice, the 200th anniversary of which is being celebrated this year.

As this event is a walking tour, a reasonable level of fitness is required.
