An Evening at Vaucluse House

Experience the Wentworths’ picturesque estate and harbourside retreat in a whole new light. Join us for an exclusive and intimate tour through the house after dark.

As evening falls, enjoy a unique tour of Vaucluse House. Explore the impressive and lavishly decorated drawing room, its elegant interiors enhanced by candlelight. Hear stories about the residents of this Gothic Revival mansion and how life was for both family and servants at a time before electric lighting. Visit the private quarters of William Charles and Sarah Wentworth and their ten children and learn about their lives and extensive travels in Europe. Complete your visit with nibbles and a glass of wine in the servants’ kitchen.

Vaucluse House is situated in a valley on Birrabirragal and Gadigal Country and was the home of politician and barrister William Charles Wentworth and his family. It has been a museum since 1915 and part of Museums of History NSW (formerly the Historic Houses Trust of NSW) since 1980.

All attendees must hold a valid ticket. Children attending require parental supervision throughout the event.
