The Mint

We are located at the southern (Hyde Park) end of Macquarie Street, next to the Hyde Park Barracks Museum.

Train

The Mint is a 5-minute walk from St James station (City Circle line) or a 10-minute walk from Martin Place station (Eastern Suburbs line).

Bus

The nearest bus stops are on Elizabeth Street at Hyde Park, which is a 5-minute walk away.

Buses and cars can pause to drop off and pick up south of The Mint on Prince Albert Road, or behind The Mint in Hospital Road.

Parking

There is no public parking at the Mint. Limited meter parking is available in the streets around the Royal Botanic Gardens and Hyde Park.

Paid parking is available at the nearby Wilson - The Domain car park. The online promo code MHNSW is valid between Monday – Friday 6am–5pm. Pre-booking is required online via Book a Bay.

The Domain parking station is the closest parking station and is a 10-minute walk from The Mint. Enter from St Marys Road.

On-street bike parking is available on St James Road just past the intersection with Macquarie Street.

Bullion Store

The Bullion Store offers single-origin coffee by The Little Marionette and a delicious menu featuring a range of fresh baked pastries, artisanal bagels and healthy salads. You can book museum entry and program tickets, purchase membership as well as shop a range of books, gifts and homewares.

Bullion Bar and Dining

Bullion Bar and Dining offers superb contemporary Australian style food with hints from Asia and the middle east with a focus on high-quality local produce and Australian wines. Overlooking the historic Macquarie Street precinct, the restaurant also offers high tea, drawing on the highly successful high tea at Estate Vaucluse House.

There is access for people with wheelchairs to the ground floor of the Macquarie Street building, courtyard, Coining Factory building and Caroline Simpson Library & Research Collection. The Coining Factory building also has accessible toilets.
