Call for participants: Hope Garden by Hiromi Tango

Published on Thursday 16 January 2025

Museums of History NSW is delighted to announce a dramatic new art installation, Hope, by renowned multidisciplinary artist Hiromi Tango, to be displayed at the Hyde Park Barracks from 11 April 2025.

In the lead-up to this installation, you’re invited to participate in Hope Garden– a series of drop-in creative workshops facilitated onsite by the artist, Hiromi. The workshops, which will creatively contribute towards the final installation, are a unique opportunity to learn more about the history of the Barracks and explore ideas and personal stories of hope and connection.

These drop-in workshops (no bookings required) are for all ages and abilities and will take place at the Hyde Park Barracks on Tuesday 21 and Wednesday 22 January between 10am and 4pm. Please bring some washed and clean pieces of fabric or old clothing remnants that have a memory or personal story for you and that can be shared and used for creative upcycling!

Hope is proudly supported by the NSW Government through the Blockbusters Funding initiative.
