Ronaele Jones: an 'invisible designer'

Ronaele Jones (1945–2010) was an Australian designer and colourist of commercially produced printed furnishing textiles and wall coverings. After study at the East Sydney Technical College, Jones worked as a staff artist for A.G. Wilson Fabrics Australia, designing their co-ordinated wallpaper and fabric ranges, then as a colourist for A. Sanderson & Sons Fabrics & Wall-coverings in England.

As a free-lance artist, Jones’ work was marketed internationally, and here in Australia, was produced and sold by most of the major textile companies of the period. In 2010 the CSL&RC acquired the Ronaele Jones archive which includes biographical material, ephemera, textiles, sample books and original designs amassed by the designer over a forty year career.
