The dream of home ownership is strongly desired, if increasingly unobtainable for many of us. Over 200,000 new homes will be built in Sydney by 2031, but it won't be enough to solve the city's housing crisis.

Photographer Andrew Merry documents the creation of new suburbia in outer Sydney from an aerial perspective. His captivating images reveal newly entangled freeways, tessellated patterns made by bright new roofs and backyard fences as they curve around cul-de-sacs and roundabouts.
