The Strand Arcade Twilight Tour

Join us for an exclusive guided tour of the Strand Arcade – the last surviving Victorian-era shopping arcade in Sydney.

Completed in 1892, the Strand Arcade is a treasure-trove of architectural and social history. The arcade has survived through two world wars, the 1930s Depression, and even the period of the notorious Chequers nightclub, which operated in the basement of the arcade in the 1950s. Listed on the NSW State Heritage Register, the Strand Arcade flaunts its Victorian architectural grandeur in the heart of the CBD.

Led by the Strand Arcade’s resident tour guide, participants will learn about the building’s architectural quirks, as well as its social history. The tour will also visit the Nut Shop, which has been in business in the arcade since 1939.

Soak up the ambience of Sydney by night and end the tour with a complimentary drink at ESQ Bar + Dining located at the QVB.
