QVB Twilight Tours
Sydney Open Series
Join us for a special-access tour of one of Sydney’s best-loved architectural icons, the Queen Victoria Building (QVB).
A grand marketplace, the QVB, designed by architect George McRae, was built in 1898 as a monument to the long-reigning British monarch. Although it was constructed during an economic recession, the building features a lavish Romanesque style of architecture that allowed the government of the day to employ out-of-work craftsmen, including stonemasons, plasterers and stained-glass window artists.
Led by the QVB's very own tour guide, participants will learn about the building’s architectural quirks, hear stories of the people behind its construction and gain access to a courtyard normally hidden from the public.
Soak up the ambience of Sydney by night and end the tour with a complimentary drink at ESQ Bar + Dining located at the QVB.
