Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area files
The NSW Government established the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area in 1906, and from 1909 water was supplied from Burrinjuck Dam. The files concern all aspects of operation in the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area, including inquiries by prospective settlers, naming and planning of towns, land resumption, operation of factories, abattoirs and canneries and soldier settlement. They are a fascinating record of the history of this part of the Riverina.
