Sydney Open Adaptive Reuse 2024 Members Competition winner
Published on Friday 22 November 2024
Sydney Open – the city’s leading event for architecture, design and the built environment – returned on Sunday 3 November 2024. Six world-class examples of adaptive reuse were showcased during the event: Rozelle’s White Bay Power Station; The Brewery, Chippendale; Sub Station No. 164 and Machine Hall; 50 Martin Place; The Mint; and the recently redeveloped Sirius building at The Rocks.
On the day, the winner of our members competition, H K of Redfern, and a guest enjoyed a very special personal tour of the Sirius building by our lead producer and John Green, Director of Dedico Development Services, who led the transformation of the iconic building.
H K told us: ‘Sirius was our favourite part [of the Sydney Open day] particularly as we were fortunate to learn a lot more about the transformation from the [experts]’.
The prize also included a night’s accommodation at the Fullerton Hotel Sydney, high tea at Estate Vaucluse House, and a special guided clock-winding tour at the Hyde Park Barracks for two, as well as other great benefits.
