National Volunteer Week 2024

Published on Monday 20 May 2024

This National Volunteer Week we extend an enormous, heartfelt thank you to our exceptional team of volunteers.

Our volunteers generously lend us their skills, passion and energy to further the important heritage work of Museums of History NSW.

Over the last 12 months this committed team has created memorable visitor experiences at our museums, enhanced discoverability of the State Archives collection and assisted our public programs team to deliver events. They have given free presentations to interested groups, contributed over 200,000 item and index entries, supported our Horticulture team to keep the Vaucluse House kitchen garden looking beautiful, and so much more - together they have contributed over 14,500 hours of service.

At today’s annual Volunteers’ Morning Tea we were thrilled to recognise 55 volunteers who have reached significant length of service years and hours milestones, including dedicated volunteers who were recognised for 30 years and 4000 hours volunteer service – an incredible contribution!

We deeply value the hard work, generosity, and loyalty of our wonderful volunteers!
