Memorable learning experiences at Elizabeth Farm

Published on Tuesday 16 July 2024

At Museums of History NSW, we strive to create memorable and meaningful experiences for school students – bringing history to life in the places where it happened.

This week we saw the impact of this work, when a visitor arrived at Elizabeth Farm with her family, eager to share the place she remembered visiting as a student in the 1990s.

Her childhood visit had left a deep impression. She remembered every part of the experience, from details of the crimes committed by convict Eliza Brown to washing laundry, and making scones and churning butter in the colonial kitchen.

The visitor now lives overseas but has often told her teenage children of her experience at Elizabeth Farm and was thrilled to be able to share it with her family today – complete with doing the washing!
