First Nations Community Access to Archives
The First Nations Community Access to Archives is a four-year project funded under Closing the Gap Target 16. It aims to unearth language and cultural materials from the NSW State Archives Collection and prepare these materials for community access.
In collaboration with the Aboriginal Languages Trust NSW, the initiative should improve the access and experiences of First Nations communities to archival material in our collections. These include the State Archives, a collection of over 14 million items that contains material that is potentially invaluable to First Nations peoples and cultures.
