Tours of Urban Green Sydney

Join us for a tour of Urban Green, a subterranean farm in Sydney’s city centre.

Located in a former car park four levels beneath the heart of Barangaroo, Urban Green is Sydney’s largest vertical farm. The development of Urban Green is a grass-roots story of adaptive reuse. The conversion from car park to farm involved installing floor-to-ceiling cool-room panels for insulation, a reverse-cycle air-conditioning system to regulate the temperature, and a powerful exhaust cycle to filter the air. The microgreens grow under LED lights that mimic the sun, while strategically placed fans ensure adequate air flow.

Led by Urban Green founder, Noah Verin, participants will learn about the architectural quirks, opportunities and challenges of repurposing a car park. They will also participate in a tasting of microgreens and specialty products that the farm supplies to some of Sydney’s most respected restaurants, and take home their very own Urban Green herb punnet.
