Beekeeping workshop with The Urban Beehive
Join beekeepers Vicky Brown and Doug Purdie from The Urban Beehive for an introduction to beekeeping.
The workshop will begin with a tour of the recently revitalised Vaucluse House kitchen garden where our resident horticulturalist, Anita Rayner will guide you in selecting the best plants to encourage pollinators. Vicky and Doug will then introduce you to the Vaucluse House hives demonstrating how they care for these special residents. Following the tour, you can watch honey being spun in a honey extractor, roll your own beeswax candle to take home and take part in a guided honey tasting workshop within the grounds of the heritage listed garden. Participants will also be able to purchase Vaucluse House honey from the gift shop after the workshop.
Members get more: Enjoy presale, 20% off workshop tickets and 20% off storewide in the Vaucluse House Museum Shop including our homegrown Vaucluse House honey (Sunday 14 April only). Plus 10% off dinning at Estate Vaucluse House.
