We are located one block back from Circular Quay, which is serviced by trains, buses and ferries.

By road

Parking

We don’t have parking at the museum and street parking is very limited. The nearest public carparks are at the Sir Stamford Hotel in Albert Street, the Intercontinental Hotel in Phillip Street or the Sydney Opera House. Visitors are advised to check parking rates.

Buses can stop on Macquarie Street to drop-off and pick-up. There are bus parking zones on Macquarie Street which require drivers to remain with their vehicles.

Cycling

We don't have secure parking for bikes at the Justice & Police Museum.

We welcome visitors to explore the museum on their own, with our staff on hand to provide information and assist when needed.

For visitors with limited mobility

There are 16 steps into the museum by the front (Albert Street) entrance. Visitors with wheelchairs and visitors with low mobility can enter via a ramp to the left of the stairs at the same entrance. Please ring the bell on the door to let us know you are here.

If you require a wheelchair, we recommend booking it prior to your visit by calling Bookings on +61 2 8239 2211 during business hours. Alternatively, you can inquire when you arrive at the ticketing desk. Please note supply is limited, and subject to availability.

Wheelchair access

Once inside the museum, there is access for people with wheelchairs to most areas, including the main exhibition gallery, police court and toilets, but some other areas are very narrow and have steps.

For visitors who are blind or have low vision

Videos are narrated and tours can be provided. We welcome assistance animals, and a water bowl is available on request.

For visitors who are deaf or hard of hearing:

Minimise the time you spend in a queue by buying tickets online before your visit.

The museum experience does not feature bright, flickering or strobe lighting. It does contain graphic images and small spaces including cells and weapons on display. For more information in advance of your visit, call Bookings on + 61 2 8239 2211 during business hours.
