The Mint features integrated AV facilities supported by our in-house audiovisual services team, ensuring clients have access to seamless technology experiences including videoconferencing and hybrid event options.

Our onsite hospitality partner is Pearl Catering. Pearl’s team of restaurant and catering professionals bring a true commitment to event management, creativity and innovation using only the finest and sustainable ingredients sourced from Sydney’s top providores.

The Mint holds great historical significance. It was constructed in the 1810s under the direction of Governor Macquarie as the southern wing of the General ‘Rum’ Hospital, which provided medical care for convicts. When gold fever hit in the 1850s it was transformed into the first overseas branch of London’s Royal Mint, and it has since had a diverse range of uses. Today The Mint houses the Museums of History NSW head office, the Caroline Simpson Library & Research Collection, a café, restaurant, retail shop, and multiple venue hire spaces for your next booking.

The Mint’s rich historical significance adds atmosphere and interest to every event. Give your guests a fascinating behind-the-scenes perspective on the history of the site with a specialist-led introductory talk or guided tour. We can also organise a private visit to one of our neighbouring sites such as the Hyde Park Barracks.
