Old-fashioned lemonade

Make some cooling lemonade for those hot summer days.

You will need

Ingredients

  • ¾ cup of white sugar
  • 1 cup of boiling water
  • A large jug of chilled water
  • ½ lemon per person

Equipment

  • A kettle
  • A lemon squeezer
  • A small bowl
  • A strainer
  • A large jug and a small jug
  • Drinking cups

How to make

To make the sugar water

Step 1: measure ¾ cup of sugar into a measuring jug.

Step 2: with the help of an adult, boil water in a kettle and very carefully pour one cup of water over the sugar.

Step 3: Stir until the sugar dissolves and let the mixture cool while you make the rest of the lemonade. The sugar water will keep for several weeks in the fridge.
