Held is a series of sculptural works designed by Yuwaalaraay artist Lucy Simpson, now on display at Rouse Hill Estate.
These sculptures were created to rest in the landscape and honour the sky, earth, water and air.
They are activated by the Country around them, Dharug Ngurra (Dharug Country). They are contemporary in style, but reference traditional forms of cultural objects made from bark, such as coolamons and canoes.
They tell stories without words. They change with the light. They are an invitation to look around you, to listen, to smell, to breathe and embrace Country.
Held was originally commissioned for Sydney Festival 2026.
