A visit to Vaucluse House is a fascinating day out for the whole family, with plenty to enjoy across this historic site.

Explore the grand house and estate buildings at your own pace, and wander the picturesque gardens and grounds, from the secret waterfall to the beach paddock. Make sure to stop by the shop to pick up unique gifts and honey from our very own beehives, and treat yourself to a decadent high tea at Estate restaurant.

Entry to Vaucluse House is free, and visitors are always welcome to explore the site themselves. We also offer additional ways for you to engage with the estate and its stories more deeply, and with more guidance. Learn about these experiences below.

Guided tours

Join a paid expert-led tour, where our knowledgeable guides bring Vaucluse House to life. These tours are ideal for visitors seeking a deeper and more immersive experience, as our guides share intriguing tales and exclusive insights – and there’s also ample opportunity to ask questions.

Tours run for one hour and are available Wednesday to Friday at 10am and 2pm. Tours can also be adjusted for access requirements upon request. Tickets are essential.

Audio guide

To enhance your self-guided visit, pick up a free audio guide and headphones from our helpful staff at the information desk. This will lead you through the house and provide deeper insights into the history of the Wentworth family, as well as the stories behind each room.

Gardens and grounds audio tour

Discover the stories of the Vaucluse House gardens and grounds at your own pace with our new free audio tour – an inclusive and accessible way to explore the estate’s history, cultural landscape and First Nations connections.

Follow the stops as you wander through the estate, or simply sit and listen. Hosted by former ABC broadcaster Robbie Buck, the tour features insights from members of the La Perouse Aboriginal community and our own experts, offering rich and diverse perspectives on this remarkable place.
