The GUL Collective workshops

Join creative group the GUL Collective for an all-ages, all-abilities creative workshop exploring looping, binding, stitching and cobbling using fibre and textile materials.

Made up of emerging artists and migrant women from diverse backgrounds, the GUL Collective is led by visual artist Paula do Prado and program producer Yamane Fayed under the Multicultural Women’s Hub program at Arts & Cultural Exchange. With a focus on providing opportunities to grow the creative talent of the participants, the collective encourages the women to blend traditional techniques with contemporary practice.

The GUL Collective’s community artwork project started in April 2025 at PHIVE in Parramatta and has since been exhibited at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Sydney and the Family Day at the Sydney Biennale. The next iteration of the community artwork will be unveiled at Elizabeth Farm in 2027.

Your creations are yours to take home or they can be contributed to the GUL Collective’s ongoing GUL x Community Artwork.

All materials are provided and no experience is necessary. Children must be accompanied by an adult or guardian throughout the workshop.
