For over 20 years, Scott Morgan has built an extensive catalogue of work under the loscil moniker, spanning the genres of ambient, classical and electroacoustic music primarily for the esteemed American independent record label Kranky.

A master of spectral depth and tonal frequencies, loscil’s music layers texture and space to create immersive compositions that conjure the immense forces of the natural world and the wonder therein when we harmonise with them for a moment in time.

Darren Cross is one of Australia’s most stalwart leaders of alternative DIY music culture. He first turned heads in the 1990s in his groundbreaking band Gerling. As D.C Cross, Darren has continued to refine and define the notion of ecstatic guitar, a uniquely Australian take on the solo instrumental guitar.

Andrew Tuttle dwells in an exploratory musical world, where the five-string banjo sits serenely and purposefully with shimmering waves of decay, reverberation and processed electronics. Holding a space that is abundant and generous, Tuttle makes outsider music that turns its listeners into insiders.

With its sweeping harbour views and rich layered interiors, Elizabeth Bay House offers a spectacular setting for music.

Canadian–American musician, composer and artist claire rousay has created a unique form of musique concrète, zeroing in on personal emotions and the minutiae of everyday life. Voicemails, haptics (feedback through touch), iPhone field recordings, whispers and conversations all become layered with autotune vocals tinged with emo-pop inflections, conjuring forgotten memories shaped through the prism of millennial childhood. At Elizabeth Bay House, rousay’s work unfolds within the quiet grandeur of the historic rooms, inviting audiences into a deeply personal and reflective listening experience.

In the charged atmosphere of the Justice & Police Museum, this live performance unfolds in a space shaped by layered stories.

Believe is a new free jazz supergroup comprising four of the most inventive improvisers and composers in Sydney’s creative music scene. Drummer and composer Laurence Pike has released four solo albums and worked with groups such as Triosk, Szun Waves, PVT and Liars. Bassist Clayton Thomas spent over a decade in Berlin, recording with artists such as Ken Vandemark and Paul Lovens, and founded the Now Now festival of spontaneous music in Sydney. Keyboardist Novak Manojlovic was the recipient of the 2019 Freedman Fellowship (Jazz) and is Artistic Director at SIMA, and alto saxophonist Peter Farrar has toured with trumpeter Wadada Leo Smith and recorded with jazz pianist Mike Nock.

Wytchings is the music project of artist Jenny Trinh. Trinh creates electronic soundscapes that are introspective yet familiar, and that soundtrack the abstract experiences of growing up amid the changing urban landscapes of Western Sydney.

Take a seat at the historic Justice & Police Museum and be transported through improvisation and sound as the Hilary Geddes Quartet play music from the album Redleaf.

Hilary Geddes is an Australian guitarist and composer whose work moves between jazz, indie and experimental music. Her album Redleaf (Earshift Music) merges jazz, indie and experimental influences in an emotionally resonant set driven by her stellar quartet. With pianist Matt Harris, double-bassist Maximillian Alduca and drummer Alexander Inman-Hislop, Geddes delivers bold, improvisation-rich music with heart and nuance.

Geddes was the 2021 Freedman Jazz Fellow and the 2019 Jann Rutherford Memorial Award recipient. In 2021, with the Hilary Geddes Quartet, she released her debut album Parkside (ABC Jazz), which was nominated for an Australian Independent Records Label Association award. In 2025, the group performed at the Melbourne International Jazz Festival and in 2024, Geddes supported Marcus Miller (USA) at his sold-out City Recital Hall concert. Outside of jazz and improvised music, Geddes is the lead guitarist in the rock band The Buoys.
