Festive celebrations at Vaucluse House
Celebrate the festive season at Vaucluse House with a full day of activities, including craft, performances and workshops.
See the spectacular decorated tree in the Vaucluse House drawing room, join a tour of the house to learn about Christmas traditions in the Victorian era, create a decorative paper garland and make a traditional pomander. Bring a picnic and enjoy performances by harpist Georgia Lowe in the historic grounds.
Take part in festive workshops and demonstrations. Free, registration required.

Fancy yourself a budding decorator? Stylist and author Lucy Tweed shows you how in this hands-on styling workshop in the colonial kitchen at Vaucluse House. Learn how to spruce up your house for the festive season and make an ornament to take home with you.

Gingernut biscuits are a festive favourite, ideal to give as gifts or just to enjoy yourself. This holiday season, the Country Women’s Association shares expert tips and tricks to help you perfect your baking skills.

Plum Pudding–Making Demonstration
2pm–3pm
Join culinary historian and MHNSW Curator Dr Jacqui Newling for a Christmas pudding–making demonstration. Jacqui will share her techniques for making a traditional fruit-rich pudding, following an 1860s recipe. This recipe will be provided to all participants to take home. You will also explore a range of 19th-century handwritten plum pudding recipes held in MHNSW collections.

Cocktail-Making Workshop
3pm–4pm
Mix and sip with expert bartenders from Trolley’d. With ingredients sourced directly from the Vaucluse House garden, along with native and wild plants, you’ll learn how to make two cocktails that will impress your friends and family. This event is not accessible to people who use wheelchairs or mobility aids. Ages 18+
