Women of Susannah Place

Susannah Place Guided Tour

Discover the lives, work and resilience of the women of Susannah Place – from Mrs Riley, who owned the four houses for over 20 years from 1853, to the teenage O’Brien sisters, who gave their wages to their mother to help the family during the hard years of the 1930s Depression. You’ll also learn about Ellen Marshall, who witnessed the social and physical transformation of The Rocks from working-class neighbourhood to a tourist destination from the late 1970s.

This immersive tour takes you through 62 Gloucester Street.
