The Grocer's Shop

Susannah Place Guided Tour

Once a typical feature of Sydney’s suburbs during the 19th and early 20th centuries, grocer’s shops played an important role in community life. A small corner store operated from the front room of 64 Gloucester Street for 90 years, providing everything from food and drink to candles, brooms, soap and boiled lollies.

Step into the re-created shop and discover the stories of two of the families who ran the corner store at Susannah Place.

This is a family-friendly immersive tour through 64 Gloucester Street.
