Cataloguing Museum Collections

Deadline: 10am Monday 24 August 2026

This placement offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on museum collections management experience through assisting with the cataloguing of items from a recent donation to the Rouse Hill Estate collection.

Based at The Mint in Sydney CBD and working closely with the Registrar, the student will undertake cataloguing of collection items including manuscripts, eighteenth and nineteenth century photographs, postcards and documents.

Through this work, the student will gain skills in object handling and working with museum collection management databases, and gain insight into the day-to-day work practice of collection management.

Note this placement is best suited to a museum studies student as cataloguing procedures relate to museum collections.

Location: The Mint, Sydney CBD
